Road past Golf Club closed this week for drainage works

THE road from Nomansland to Venton Vanes (past the Looe Golf Club entrance at Bindown) will be closed to traffic this week while Cornwall Council carries out the next phase of a drainage scheme for the area.

However, golfers will still be able to access the club, by following the diversion route around Widegates and turning into the unclassified ‘cut through’ road at the Alms Cross crossroads.

The County Council says that it would not be possible to carry out the essential drainage works without closing the entire stretch of the unclassified road from the B3253 at Nomansland to the A387 but pedestrian access, as well as access to Looe Golf Club, will be maintained.

The 24-hour-a-day closure is expected to remain in place from Monday (January 13) to Friday, January17.

Diversions will be advertised using the B3252 road from Nomansland to Shortacross, Widegates.
