Tudor Lodges revised plan again supported

MEMBERS of Morval Parish Council at their monthly meeting agreed to support planning applications in respect of the Tudor Lodges at Morval and the Old Post Office at Sandplace.

Mr and Mrs Michael Tudor were re-applying to change the use of seven holiday lodges (https://www.morvalparishcouncil.org.uk/news_details.php?id=324) to market dwellings at their base near the Snooty Fox, Morval, while the owners of Old Chapel Cottage at Sandplace, Mr and Mrs Terry Foster, wanted to alter a holiday let (https://planning.cornwall.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=SQPKQKFGLL200&activeTab=summary) to residential use as an additional area to The Old Post Office with the creation of an internal doorway at ground-floor level.

The Tudors’ application has been revised following their original proposal which was refused on appeal, although it was clear that the Planning Inspector appointed by the Government had plenty of sympathy for the couple.

Saltash-based Andrew Wilks, of the ADW Design Group Chartered Architects, says that the fresh planning application has addressed the Inspector’s findings and Mr Tudor told the parish council that the Affordable Housing Contribution of £644,000 (previously dismissed as ‘ridiculous’ by Mr Tudor) had been revised to a figure believed to be in the region of £76,500.

While both applications were supported by parish councillors, the final decisions, as ever in planning matters,  rest with Cornwall Council.
