Widegates residents successful in planning bids
TWO planning applications submitted on behalf of Morval Parish residents have been approved by Cornwall Council’s planning committee.
Mr and Mrs S McClennon have been given permission to modify the vehicular access and parking arrangements at 39, Morview Road, Widegates, and Sophie Tamblyn has consent to concrete yard areas at Widlake Farm, Widegates, to prevent dirty water contamination and reduce sediment generation.
Both applications were fully supported by parish councillors.
For clarification there has been no formal planning application in respect of a suggestion that an ice-cream making facility could be located off Lydcott Lane, Widegates.
Local residents have been told that Phil and Amanda Gibson wants to move their well-established Gibson’s Cornish Ice Cream business out of a rented unit on the Barbican, East Looe and re-site it in barns at Hockey’s Field (the area behind Morview Road)
Gibsons are a small family producer of ice-cream, supplying local outlets during the holiday season. Ideally, the company wants to own its own facility, rather than continue to rent premises,
No formal planning application has been lodged at this stage.
